Hi All,

We have just purchased a 2013 T31 and I'm confused by the sat nav units... the model we have purchased is a tekna so top spec though it only has a small all-in-one satnav / audio interface.

Looking about I've seen ones with larger screens in lower spec models... so was the larger screen option a stand alone upgrade ?

if so, is the screen and control unit easily interchangeable i.e. if i purchase the larger screen and the control panel (plus change find the suitable plastic dash surround) can i just swap these out ?

even more confusing i've seen 2 different control panels go along with the larger screen as per pics below???

Thanks for any help / advice.

Barry

Mine (an '08 Sport) had the larger screen version you pictured. It's very dated, won't stream audio via bluetooth, has no usb or aux in so the only way of playing your own music is the old compact disk! I've since changed it for a Pioneer.

weird... I don't see how the double din unit with the small display could be considered an upgrade!

It is though - despite the smaller screen I was told it's higher resolution than the previous DVD-based one, and you can still get map updates. Look for "Connect 2" SD cards on eBay - much cheaper than direct from Nissan.

Also, the older head unit might not work with your reversing camera.

D'oh - sorry for the late correction but it should be "Connect 1" in my post above for the last T31 (2013) satnavs . Elsewhere they've called it "1.5".

Ther are lots of ads on eBay for the V7 SD card claiming it's "2017", but according to http://nissan.navigation.com/product-list/Catalog/Catalog_Xtrail_2013/en_GB/NissanEMEA/GBP the V7 map data is from 3Q 2015. I wonder if we'll see a newer one?

On that site, cards for newer Connect systems don't give a map date.

If you want a new sd card forr connect 1,2 or 3 then this is the guy to talk to.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/blackrojer?_t ... 7675.l2559

Also has a very detailed explanation on the different connect systems and the different cards.

Best regards
