Hello this probably a stupid question and I'm sure I no the answer but I will ask any way. I've just purchased my first X Trail and want to improve it straight away so if I was to fit the pedders lift kit and put all terrain tyres on it do I need to inform my insurance and will it make a difference in insurance costs?

Believe it or not a tow bar is classed as a modification but insurance companies usually dont penalise you for them.

Mods: I REFUSE to tolerate the admins behaviour. I will never visit the forum again, delete the account.
Simple answer is yes to remain covered yes you do.
My X has a long list of mods, Adrian flux cover everything I have done fully comp for £280 for 6000 miles a year. They offer green lane recovery service too which may be very useful for some.

Try calling your insurance company and ask them how much extra the mods would cost you if you did them

Thanks I will call before I fit them. I thought it maybe ok because if the old suspension was no good and needed replacing any way and instead of standard or stock parts, I used pattern or stronger parts. Thanks again I will find out, nice1.
