Now, we love our Xtrail and have been thrilled with it. The only thing we're not keen on are the yellowy looking sidelights, which look cheap and nasty especially when the xenons are on. Can these be replaced for a bulb with a whiter light???

They quote a standard: 'Not Road Legal' disclaimer - but ours passed an MOT with these fitted.

If you do get some, note that they are *directional*, ie. they'll only work one way round in the socket - this had me fooled for a time... :whistle:

No idea - probably not worth OEM manufacturers' efforts to get them Euro Certified for road use in the numbers they're currently being fitted - as retroparts. Guess any original fitments - like the BMW group stuff would be...

what about replacing the indicators with clear indicators with the orange bulbs I did that on my old Frontera.

Hi Aitch - how are you? Noticed these bulbs are 6000K - do they look at all blue as HID's are 4300K. They look like really good bulbs to me as they spread the light, not just the normal blinding head on look :thumbs:

Nope - they appear clean white to me - and are a good match for our HIDs.

I did originally fit some of the cheapo surface mount/non-diffusing ones - but these look better, as you rightly summise.

:confused: Not sure I follow - our T31's indicators *are* clear covers, with orange bulbs (side repeaters on wings and those within the main light cluster) - came that way.

Aitch,

I assume you got no canbus warning lights or error messages on the dash when you installed yours?

Just plug and play???
