I noticed that there is no backplate on the rear offside brake on my car, near side one is not very rusty so I cannot imagine that tinworm has totally eaten the offside one away, so someone must have removed it or not bothered refitting it in the past? Why would someone do that?

More importantly, where will I get a new one?

This one is for a T30 and mines T31 but will ask them if they will be getting any T31's into stock.

Good question... Without crawling back under the car to look I assume the backplate must have rotted away on its outer flange so appears to be missing but presumably the inner part must be still intact and in place? I had not checked to see if the T31 is a handbrake inside the disc type ( still haven't) -is it?

Looking on the bay, the rear discs appear to be the same for the T30 and the T31... Is it possible that the brakes and the back plates are the same for both models?

Anyone know?

And here, you can compare the two. Its pretty clear the parking brake mounts are different, the T30's have no holes to accomodate the T31 rear bearing assembly, and the T31s bolt onto the caliper retainer whereas the T30s do not
