I'm a proud owner of an early 2009 2L Diesel Automatic T31. I'm (hopefully) going to be installing an iO Play 2 bluetooth streaming music device to the car. After a false start where Halfords supplied the wrong SOT cable, I'm told that the correct cable is now in stock.

The new cable is intended to connect to a 12-pin VDA connector which already exists in the car. Apparently the "12 pin VDA connector [is] behind beside gear stick", whatever that means. Does anyone know the exact location of this socket?

Sorry I can't help with your question, but just wanted to say I had an IO Play 2 fitted in my T30 not so long ago and find it really good - phone is very clear and the music streaming works well. Only slight downside is finding convenient spaces for the display and controls, and not being able to search through your music by album!

I'm not sure what the VDA connector is. I assume you have a copy of the iO Play 2 manual: http://www.my-io.com/wp-content/uploads ... ST2012.pdf

I'd suggest you get yourself a copy of the X Trail Electronic Service Manual, either online or from EBay, so you can reference the Entertainment System section.

The only reference I see related to the gear stick, is the reverse switch input.
