Hi All,

Been using the forum for a year or so but only just found an email address that allows me to register, so Hi to all!

Im going to change the wheels and tyres on my 2010 car and after much looking I was going to go with 16x7 steel wheels (ET30) with 225/70/R16 Insa turbo ranger AT tyres.

Ive been on the will it fit website and it looks fine (will stick out 16.4mm more than the current wheels) but wondered if anyone else is running with a similar set up?

Im changing because I have to drive 11km along a rough track to work each day and the car came with the 18" wheels with 55 tyres so im hoping the deeper tyre sidewall will give a bit of a softer ride across the rocks and pot holes, with the larger grooves better for the mud & snow.

Cheers Steve

Thanks Ahto,

I want to get away from the 18" alloys, apart from anything else they are a pain when they pick up mud inside (mud and rock dust so hard as hell). They get out of balance so easily if part of the mud get washed off in the deep puddles.

I have opted to get a set of tuff torque 16x7 steel wheels with BFG 225/70/R16 tyres.

The wheels have an ET of 30 and looking at the fit calculators on line this set up should be fine.

I’ll let you know if anyone is interested?

Hi,

Always a great help to post any information like this on the forum.
Even if there's nobody interested at the time, the information may be invaluable to somebody in the future

Thanks

I've had a look at these previously, but never took the plunge. Another option I considered was spare 16" rims from early T30.

Thanks for the reply, might look into the old t30 rims. Bet there are a few scrap yards who'll have some.
