Grab hold of the top of the speedo binnacle and pull. It should come off and you will then see the last 2 screws.

Hi Ayrton. Lardy is right. I have just fitted a SPH DA 100 in the Exy. Removed speaker cover by pulling/ lifting the edge near to screen, then remove 2 screws the you can see then pull/lift the black plastic dome cover over the speedo cluster and lift up enough to get at the remaining 2 screws. If you need to remove top glove box on passenger side open the bottom glove box and look along bottom edge of top box and you will see 2 Philips screws. Just undo these 2 or 3 turns and with the lid open give it a pull and the whole top box will come out. I done this to route ipod cables so I could put ipod in the top tray. Sited the GPS receiver inside the drivers side speaker housing on the dash and the microphone at the top of the plastic door pillar trim below the alarm sensor hiding the wire behind it. Wish I had taken photo's now and posted them. Would have been a great help to you. Still getting my head round this unit. Getting too old for all this technology. Bring back the days when everything worked straight out the box. Had to buy a 4G iPod as my old 2G was not compatible, now can't get GPS to work with the 2 navigations on the iPod ( tomtom and Navfree) :headbang:

Thanks for all the help, peeps. Stereo in place. Just a bit of tidying to do - I have the GPS aerial, a microphone and two wires from a glass mount radio aerial emerging from between the glovebox and the speaker cover, and there is a little too much bulk there to get the speaker cover back on totally flush. I'll have another look next weekend, any suggestions about how to get my wires 'above ground' in the neatest fashion?

Incidentally the glass mount aerial is necessary because the in-car aerial only delivered AM. Annoyingly the replacement only delivers FM, to this head unit anyhow :headbang: Still I'd rather FM than AM.

Question for Martyn, your unit looks rather neat in your dash there, how did it look before you put the plastic surround on? The reason I ask is that mine came with a non-OEM trim (2nd hand off eBay) which is no use to me in this car. It does look a bit unsightly without trim and there is a bigger gap at the bottom than on the other sides. Is that what you had? I can get a like for like replacement from eBay but they are not cheap and I don't want to fork out for one if it won't fit in the gap at all and/or won't cover up all the spaces.

 

Hi Ayrton. Glad you got it sorted :thumbs: Mine is the same regarding the gap. What I done is put the plastic surround that came with the unit over the front of the head unit before putting the silver trim back on. It looks a lot better as it stops you seeing through the gap.

Not sure that this is correct to be honest.

The OEM Nissan aerial on the roof is designed for Am and FM reception. Remember that this is a powered unit via an amplifier in the dashboard. Check that the Pioneer wiring loom has the blue/white cable connected to the appropriate Nissan cable (which in this case will be red/yellow) at the ISO connectors. Without that connection you will struggle to get any FM reception.

Thanks Martyn, just the job. I think you have the same gap as me but yours looks ok because you have a trim under it. I'll just have to bite the bullet and fork out for one.
