Hi

My wife would like to upgrade her radio so she can connect her phone to it. The idea is to connect the Android phone using bluetooth to make calls and stream music.

The Xtrail is a 56 plate and the dash/radio looks like this

Ideally she wants to keep the existing SatNav and just replace the head unit

Is this do able?

Thanks

Thank you for the replies. Sorry I haven't got back sooner.

I am just about to read the guide Pict posed up - Thanks for that.

How on earth do you remove the radio bracket screws off the standard CY690 radio? They are Torx, but they won't shift.
The screws are starting to round off now :-(

This walkthrough here when I fitted my Pioneer DAB may help you as well
Thanks for the guide. I actually used that yesterday to find out what wiring harness I needed

If you look at the photo below, how did you remove those screws that hold the adapters on? Both the maintenance guy here and myself have tried.
The screws are starting to become rounded off now

I fitted a JVC bluetooth head unit as a replacement last year from Halfords, took what you've got in the last post to Halfords and bought a single screwdriver to fit those screws. No problems after that.

I did end up putting the original head unit back in though as my wife couldn't put up with the way the buttons were set out. The JVC unit is fitted in my caravan instead - highly amusing making a handsfree phone call from a caravan through a set of 4 speakers and half the campsite hearing it - not!
